Here's part of what I picked up Thursday morning. 25+ brake rotors, one tote full of cast aluminum, one tote full of automotive electric motors, another with A/c compressors.

Not shown is the aluminum rads and alloy wheel.

Yesterday morning I made a light haul before work-

    It broke down as follows-
    Alloy Rims (In this case a Mercedes C230 rim) 24lbs@ .84/lb $20.16
    Clean Auto Rads 41lbs@ .62/lb $25.42
    Lead Acid Batteries 210lbs@ .36/lb $75.60
    Total $121.18

Here's a pic of my scrap hauler-'56 Ford

Your 56 ford is not all original, it's not dripping oil.

Nice haul and a very cool Ford. I'm partial to the bug in the background though!

The '56 is pretty much the way I bought it. 223 6cyl(soon to be replaced with a 312 out of a '56 T-bird), stick shift= 25mpg in town and a touch over 28 on the interstate. Ragged upholstery and a little rust here & there but it works great for a daily driver! I don't haul iron with the Ford, I've a truck for that.

Best thing about the using the car for collecting scrap is it doesn't fit the stereotypical 'scrapper's ride' profile so I can go into the rich parts of town without drawing negative attention. If anything it works well as an icebreaker!
