My very first car I scrapped was a 98 Ford Escort Sport, the car was strewn with all kinds of stuff as usual.. I noticed this particular car had a lot of bibles, church bulletins, even had cassette tapes of sermons.. I thought.. man did I buy the Pope's car or what? After a fine digging through I found a Strip Club VIP door Key.. I laughed me arse off at that one!

I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!

    Morning everyone:

This might be slightly off-topic for this thread, but here goes:

Years ago I was doing some small-scale scrapping.....one of the roads downtown goes out to the local interstate. As
one gets to the end of the road that runs into the access road to the interstate, there's a trail that goes down to a
local river that runs beneath an overpass on the interstate.

I'd been noticing in passing an old junk tv there on the bank of the river down there, decided to go see if it was
worth fooling with. As I pulled in at the end of the trail near the water, I noticed a small red pick-up parked
nearby with a guy just sitting in it. I'd no sooner exited my vehicle and started down toward the old tv, than
here came this small yellow car from off the interstate. Driver didn't bother coming around and using the trail,
he just came down the embankment near the overpass! I remember thinking, "crazy fool!"

The little yellow car stopped next to the red pickup, and two well-dressed gents - suits and ties - got out and went
over to talk to the red pick-up guy. I went on ahead to the tv, looked it over and decided it wasn't worth fooling
with. As I was walking back to my car, I happened to glance back over my shoulder............the two well-dressed
guys were apparently law enforcement officers of some sort - FBI or detectives - they had guns drawn and had
    the red pick-up guy covered!!
8l Apparently that guy was a crook and must have had a weapon, for them to
'throw down' on him like that!

    WHOOOOOAAAAAAAA!! LEMME OUTA HERE!!

I left the scene - mucho pronto......half-expecting them to yell at me to halt!

I never did find out what that was all about.....but the timing of things did strike me as remarkable. Had those
lawmen not shown up when they did, I would have been down there alone with that guy.
Who knows what he was wanted for?! Don't know how much danger I was actually in, maybe none.....but glad I
didn't have to find out. Maybe there's such thing as guardian angels?

Anyway.....you might say I 'found' a criminal while out scrapping!! 8l
