    First big score!

    Hey fellow scrappers!
I did an intro a few months ago, but never had a good reason to post until now.
I've been getting a few things around town and from the college I go to in Duluth, MN, but never this much.
I put an ad on Freecycle for anything with a cord that needs to be recycled and got a response from an Artist co-op living center downtown. They have a "free room" where people can put things they don't want, but people have been putting broken electronics there. I go there and can't even handle it all as my car gets too full! So far of what I could fit into my car I've counted: 3 old tvs (the small old white ones and a small rca wooden one) 4 computer monitor and one weird laptop/desktop together thing, 5 old stereo units, a box of old electrical cords, 5 printers, an old lamp with a brass shaft, and old iron, and a few speakers. I haven't been able to go through everything yet, but I'm excited to start tearing things apart.
I want to thank the forum for giving me tips and knowledge of how to scrap things safely and effectively. I hope you all are getting some!

Maybe make more than one trip? Be sure to check that "brass" lamp with a magnet.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

The bottom of the lamp isn't brass, but the shaft from the holder to the light bulb is non-ferrous, and is heavier than aluminum ever could be.

I go to school in Duluth and our college has electronic recycling where I can put the gutted tvs and monitors after I've put them back together.
