All decent ideas...maybe it's time for a generator. Good idea regarding the pizza!
Thank you

Yeah that's great and all...but...CAN I SCRAP IT!?
That's like a pretty darn amazing deal!
Take some pics!
i think the generator is a good idea too, that could also be used out in the field.
Using it with computers tho, you'll want to run it all through a good surge protector, or better yet, one of those UPS machines first

Pictures later tonight!
And yeah, I had always wanted an generator anyway. Just WAY too many uses for that to NOT get one haha.
How about a nice inverter for around $100. plug in a power strip and you'll have what you need at the storage unit.Perhaps invest in a small generator if this could be used at your storage yard. Doing them at home would be more comforatable though!

Nice haul scrapit, I would yake sveral pizzas if I could get a load like that. I break down a lot of phones and most of the time the desk type phones only have low grade boards. I break down every thing because don't like trying to sell things. I started scraping because I know I have a buyer and I know what I can get for my stuff. No waiting around, no agling over prices just bring it to scrap yard and be done with it. But thats just me.
Dangerous to let yourself become blind to other possible revenue streams.
I completely understand where you are coming from when for some things where the difference is literally a few bucks since your time, storage and extra transportation isn't free BUT often times there is much more than a few dollars out there to be made. It takes no more than a couple minutes to do a google search and check to see if there is a resale market for what you have.
I've try that and didn't like hagling with people trying to get something for nothing. If I wanted to do that I would have stayed in the retail bussness. But I do understand where your coming from. I am not greedy (not saying you or anybody else is) but I'm doing prity good just selling to scrap yards and e-waste recyclers. Kris Kringle I'm sorry but I don't drink, but if I did I would buy you one, maybe one I will anyway.
PICTURESSSS!!!!!
This isn't even all of it. Still some in my truck, and going back next week for MORE! 10x15 Storage unit for reference, and there is BARELY any room to maneuver around this stack. 100+ here.

dam dude, you need to open you a computer store! How much of that SGI stuff you got? That's some high dollar equipment
Quite a bit! ^^ Yeah, it is.
Thats a nice load there scrapit, how old is this stuff and what type of prossers, the problem I had when I tryed to sell computors and or parts that most of the time it was to out dated and people didn't want it. If it were me I would start breaking thigs down and packing it in boxes and send it to EWASTED. Sounds to me like you need to make some room pritty quick. But again thats just me, I guese i;m a little difrent than most peole on this forum.
that sgi stuff sells well overseas, i shipped loads of it to taiwan thinkin haha! they sold it to us, now i'm gonna sell it back Those parts and boards might still sell well there, if you're willing to put the time into it and learn what you've got there
I'll have the CRTs!
Australian born and raised, Guitar player and TV Collector
Badass!
Wow, that's a dream come true CanIScrapIt!!
If you're already set up on ebay, it wouldn't be hard to get started moving those parts. If you'll list them by part numbers, you'll make a lot more by parts, than whole units. The CPUs, Motherboards, and memory especially. SGI uses all special parts ( not IBM compatable ) and if you ship worldwide, you'll move them even faster. If they're running IRIX you can get the system specs before boot, that'll tell you which CPU, how much RAM, and what system board it has. Those graphic cards, if they're the special ones, can bring you big bucks. There was a guy on here a few days ago that knew a great deal about them, if you could contact him, i'm sure he could tell you a great deal more than I can.
Yeah, I'm was told that all of these computers have VERY high tech graphics cards (due to the nature of their business). And yeah, I already have an eBay. Before scrapping, I used to do a lot of eBay buying and selling to make money.
Thanks for the comments everyone!
