CU bearing

CU bearing items are a hidden good payer . All yards might have different requirements , The yard i use takes many items i used to over look in the past as of today they are paying .21 per lb I figure they sell it to china or japan so its ok for them also. I read on Internet that CU bearing is purchased in bulk @ .65 give or take .
Still i have a bunch of copper wire with a thin steel wire inside it's got some good copper to it but considered dirty is cu bearing the best way to sell ? the yards not going to really offer information unless I know the true definition to offer it to them. when i see what they take as cu bearing - this wire is cherry 90 to 95% cu but the magnet knows

Does your yard have different grades of dirty copper? My yard has only one and it's at 1.10 a pound.

They said to toss them in with electric motors. .26 a pound right now.

As long as it's at least 50% copper it should go as dirty copper. Anything less I have to throw in the motor pile.

No this a solid copper strand - thicker then #1 - Like same amt of copper as #1 romex as in one isolated strand .
BUT at the edge to approaching middle is steel fused to copper its a small strand of steel probably for added strength it also has a simple plastic casing . This wire i feel was use as communication wire resembling old fashion Morse coed - it's the type that is wrapped around a Glass Insulator

Well the lingo knowledge is working as i see the yards have to except i have some thing that does not just fit into low percentage cu bearing , they want to take it @ .20 - but i talked about the CU percentage , and then was told bring it in an we will grade it .

How do you determine if its 50% copper before breakdown? I have found that trasformers have about 25% copper and e-motors have less, but this figure may vary. Fly-backs, ballestas (is that how you spell it, lol), compressors and computer fans I would assume have less than 10% copper but others would know better. Do you throw these in with your e-motors?
