    Big job (for me) today

As some of you know, I scrap part time with my wife's 2001 Honda Odyssey. I arranged to pick up a fridge today...and when I got to the house, there was a large pile of metal in front of it. The couple told me anything I couldn't fit they would simply throw in the dumpster they were using. I convinced them to hold it until Monday (as I couldn't get my load to the local scrap yard in time). So....my wife's van is sitting in the driveway with an older 70's model fridge, a pile of metal chairs, filing cabinets and other random scrap....while I left the "good stuff" in their driveway to pick up Monday. Monday's pile includes a pretty good amount of cast alumimum, alumimum, stainless steel......and a fog machine.

Speaking of a fog machine--anybody know what's inside? I can't wait to rip it apart

I've never had a fog machine but I'd think there's a fair amount of copper tubing.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

I thought about that too, but since I already had the fridge in the van, I was hoping to get to the scrap yard, unload, then come back and get everything else. With the yard closing off the line before I got there, I'm glad they're letting me go back Monday to get the rest

Don't be surprised if come Monday the scrap is gone.

Got a friend with a truck? Throw a 12 pack of choice his way for use of the truck.

All I am saying is almost every time I went back for something, it was gone.

I might be misstaken but most fog machines are just a bowl that you put water and dry ice in and it has a fan that blows the steem out but I could be wrong. Yes if the people left that stuff out in plain sight it might bee gone by monday.

Fog machine has a large chunk of AL like a barrel you will find wrapped around it fabric
I never found copper , there is a plastic holding tank but the AL is unique . The yard tried to say it was dirty but mixed with a good 80 lb of clean AL it will pass through
    -----------------------------------------
Good rule is to always take valuable items first .go back for mix last

Congratulations, Skippy. I think I've gotten more information about you from this one post than all 35 before it - relative age, occupational background, transportation ability and that you have a garage. That really does help.

Was in a hurry to get to the yard, and didn't think about it other than to try to get my load there on time. I was hoping to come right back and get the rest of the stuff--unfortunately, didn't work out for me. I'll let you all know if it makes it through the weekend!

Everything was still there. Picked it up after work, and taking another load to the yard this morning!
