    One he** of a week!!

Since my wife's uncle has been working with me (to help him out), I have changed some things around on how I do business. All I got to say, is I wish he moved back up here SOONER!

This past week has been awesome for VIP Recycling.

A contact of mine at a HVAC company I used to scrap for, gave me a call a few days ago, and said things been slow, so he has been helping his cousin with his handyman business. Told me, to come today to a house in Alexandria VA to pick up some scrap.

I get there, me and my wife's uncle load up a 150# steel door, refrigerator, and some misc metal pieces.

We had talked before about them using me, and how we work things out as far as charging them etc. So, the solution we came up with is this. They will haul as much as they can to their house in Sterling and I go when they call and pick it all up for a small charge depending on what they got.

Then, they will be using me for any junk removal that needs to be hauled away from their handyman jobs.

Okay, so after we talked last week, then I got a request for a construction debri removal job from show owner down the hill from my father in law. We went and demoed his shed and took everything in it for $300. What was in good condition got sent to Habitat for Humanity.

Then, we got a request for a junk removal for 2 loveseats. I told the lady since we would be in the area (today), then I do it for $150. The two couches were in good condition, so we just took them to Habitat as well.

Then, a lady called me and asked how much I would charge to haul mulch. At first, I thought she meant away from her home, but she told me, that she wanted the mulch delivered. So, after calculating in time and labor, I offered to do it for $200...This job will be done sometime this week.

Then, we got a request to remove a refrigerator in Fairfax for $50.

    and it just keeps going.

I didn't think people would actually pay to get rid of metal and appliances, but man, I have been wrong! Especially when some people pay for it.

I know, some of you will have your say about paying for metal, and I respect you for it. Just now how I do business.

O, and before I forget which will make you metal payers smile.

The main contract that my father in law has with a local dealership, they are buying a new building. So, they are now in the process of throwing away all of their "junk" metal.

The guy told me that they have a LOT!

So, I told him to take a card, and talk with the owner (they all know him better than I do), and see about me taking it all for them. I told them, I even be willing to do a 50/50 split.
