Picked up first 30 today. All 10#ers. Some of them had the handles and necks already unscrewed. Guy at the shop said he was trying to help me out. Also asked me if we would be interested in boilers and water heaters, had to turn him down....NOT!!!!!! Have to remember a cup of coffee and doughnuts for the next pick up.

Yard said they will take them with nozzles off but would prefer if they were cut in half. If it keeps the guy on the scales happy then I will cut in half.

even if he is a little irritated it would be much better to take them in whole with just the top off. My yard takes them that way and doest blink an eye. What do you do with the chemicals inside?

Right now we are going to store it in 55 gal drum. Have a feeling that I could prob offer it back to them when I get enough or dispose of it at my local dump. They are all abc or water extinguishers so we are not dealing with anything that is harmful to environment so disposal isn't a problem. I have read up on the nsds sheets on them.

Rural scrapper
Just scrapped a 2.5 gallon class a, water type you refill and put compressed air, got it for free and was worth almost 3 bucks. Not too bad considering was wife was taking copper in anyways. Guy I got it from diddnt realize water, even under 100 psi, still freezes

I think those are alum or stainless steel...what did u bring it in as?
Joe- I asked the company if they wanted the chem back they said they didn't, but I think if I offer it back when I get a full drum I think they might change their mind.

I picked some up a few weeks ago and to dispose of the chemicals properly they said they must be taken to the dump where the dump charges you. They usually bury the chemicals and charge a pretty good fee.
