    New vehicle buying connection

The other day, we went to a local easter egg extravaganza with our kids. While there, I noticed a "we buy cars" company. I decided to go so what my competition did other than buy vehicles.

In fact, they were not scrappers, nor a junk yard. They are a used car dealership in the local area, that buy any running car, truck, suv, van, etc.

I was telling them about VIP Recycling and how we come across periodically and most are still in good condition. They asked me what I did with them. I told them, that most times, I place them on craigslist.org or place a small add in the paper and sell them for far more than scrap value.

They told me from now on, to contact them for, or asked me to rather, and they would make me a cash offer for the vehicle. They said that they didnt car what year, make or model as long as it was running, and was free of liens (simple call to DMV with VIN number you can find out).

They gave me a price list of cars they currently have for sale, and they had some nice ones, all under 100,000 miles, and all under $25,000.

With business booming some now, this might become very profitable.

The other point to this thread, is to give you the idea of contacting used car dealerships when you come across vehicles that are in good condition, or minor repair work, and see what they might offer you if anything.

I would mainly give them a shot if craigslist or word of mouth didn't work out. Be like a last resort, and unless they offered more than scrap value, than no deal.

I don't blame you. Granted, it over 10 years old now, but 50,000 miles is a hell of a deal.

Should have told them, well, I already have an offer for x amount.

Yeah, I dont ever buy brand new home. I trust older vehicles a hell of a lot more than newer ones.

My favorite Junkyard has a sign up that says....Everyone is driving around on used parts! I took on my first car payment 3 years ago....and cringe each month when i write the check, grrrrr....
