Payphones Galore!

Well starting 1 week from today, we will be busy for probably a week collecting close to 1,000 pay phones.

The company that contracted us, got contracted from the owner to remove them all from their location. All they want is the coin boxes, and we get the rest to do with as we please. As a bonus, we are also getting paid for picking them up as well.

Now my question is, I live in the Northern Virginia area. Does anyone know if there is a company that would be interested in the phones without the coin boxes?

My wife's uncle said a guy he used to know would be interested and pay far better than scrap price, if he is still in business.

Just seeing if anyone else would be interested.

Also, for all my escrap buyers out there, would it be working taking out all the circuit boards? Telecom is between medium and high grade, but what is it from a pay phone?

Strip down one phone and see what you end up with. Most of the phones I come across have low grade boards, the only ones i've seen with decent boards are digital desk phones, everything else is brown crap.

I'd take the best of the best and ebay them. Make some big $$ up front. Just devise a cheap coinbox bezel and make a few up before listing them online.

George won't have to use Ebay, he owns his own thriving online auction site.

Cause they normally contain coins.

Same reason you want to keep the cash drawer from a old cash register before replacing it.
