I remember moving with an 89 VW Golf.

It takes some creative loading, but it's amazing how much you can really fit into it when you need to.

Just a suggestion to all who haul stuff in the passenger compartment of any vehicle. Get yourself and carry with you some kind of insect killer lots of small critters in the stuff we pick up and haul. Aerosol or liquid should not matter. Look on the container label and get something that has a residual claim if sprayed on a surface, typically may say two-four months kill time. If the aersosol is not flammable should not have an objectionable odor if sprayed in a vehicle. I carry some with me as well as wasp & hornet spray. Spray stuff as much as possible before it goes in the back of my Blazer. Rather kill the darn things before they cause a problem in the vehicle, shed or heaven forbid if some almost ionvisible critters infests the house.
As a driver I'm always sober, but my truck is always ready to get loaded

yeah i just throw a bug bomb in there if i have a problem. After i got my first roach bomb tv, i remember the smell so if i hit any pile with that odor i just move on. As for the wasp and hornet part...... well thats gonna kill me one day. but stuff i usually get is at roadside or storage inside a building. *knock on wood i never get one.

Perhaps a luggage rack on top for the long stuff. I'm sure you could find or build one, Dune. Thanks for the pics! And I always give a quick sniff to items that could pose an infestation problem, Or are covered in anything nasty. I give the back of TVs a quick look through the back vent to make sure they haven't been harvested. while Im there I give a quick wiff( not too close). People look through their window and see me sniffin' their tv. It's ok though, Id rather do that then deal with cat pee or roaches.

Half the stuff I get is infested with roaches or urine/feces from rats. I'm probably getting the stuff some other scrapper sniffed out!

Try putting a hot water heater across the back seat of an 03 hyundai elantra. Not very comfortable.

We are starting look real Tijuana..I love it, Truck? we don't need no stinkin' truck. I scrapped hardcore with my 78 Datsun B-210 hatchback for years and made good money when scrap was $40/ton and gas $1.25. Scrap-on

I had 2 sticking out the windows and i extended my trunk using 4x8's and ratcheted that one in place. in order to fit 2 inside of the car you have to push the pasanger seat all the way back and carefully lower it through the window till you hopefully get to the floor if not brace it with some wood 2x4s and strap it to the seat and door. Other one laid across the back seat propped up on a milk crate and a blanket cause the window ones goes down 3/4 of the way. only way i got it out the back window was it was a thinner water heater then normal. Now. I would just get out my improved truck extender i rigged up and carry 2 in the trunk and save my car the damage. Takes alot of swearing as well cant forget to cuss like a sailor till it all fits.

Area67- I might look like i would fit in tijuana but ive gotten alot more respect from the big guys for my get it done attitude.

I should also state that i dont take any major roads to get to my scrap yard just got to get over 24 speed bumps without cracking windows, scratches, and dents. no biggie :-p
