Ye Olde Teletype, Computer and Shortwave Radio Hoard

I got a call from a lady whose husband passed away in the past 6 months. Hubby was an old teletype, computer, and shortwave nerd, and she wanted her space back. Took two loads of stuff out of her shed so far, and haven't even touched the attic yet.

Got an interesting hoard here. I would really like to find a good home for this stuff, but know that most of it will never find a home outside of the scrap yard. Some of the items includes

    - New in the packages teletype parts
    - Cans of old paper tapes with code for transmitting graphics, ranging from old Warner Bros cartoon characters, playboy bunnies, Star Wars figures, etc.
    - Old meters of every conceivable sort.
    - Glass vacuum tubes

Got my small truck loaded up, and need to empty it out today so I can get back for the next load!

Sounds like a lot of stuff with more than scrap value. Good luck put up some pics and let us know how you make out with the clean out.

Those glass vac tubes can be worth a bit so $$$. Look into them

I would love a little project like that. That would keep me pulling in money for weeks.

Check out those items on ebay. Ham radio guys still want some of that stuff. There are some die hard teletype ham operators who may want the stuff. In additon to ebay check out eham.net they have various sections on old gear and even reviews of old equipement. Mike.

Still in the middle of sorting. For future reference for anyone else who is interested, there is also a vintage computer forum that has a marketplace.

I saw a Unimat lathe with a threader attachement in those pictures. I sold mine years ago for around $500, but I also had the vertical milling attachment. What I am saying is that little lathe is worth $$$$.
    Great find!
