Talked to a lady down the street that was trying to move some trash around her house to the street. I've known her a long time and her husband has a really bad back and can barely walk. I helped her with some plants and wood junk and she said she had some old trashcans behind her house. They turned out to be the large 50+ gallon cans on wheels with the flip top from my neighborhoods old trash company. These were full of trash but I had been about to buy some blue plastic 50 gallon drums for wire. She just wanted them gone since they were of no use to her. Basically the old trash company hadn't been picking up our trash since 04 and these were left over cans in great shape. They had been under her deck. So I told her I would remove them for her and saved myself $24 since I don't have to buy the barrels anymore.
One just had some trash bags in it but the second had a piece of chrome sticking out of it and when I got it home it turned out to be a chrome light bar for an old Jeep. Its got some rust spots but I bet I can get $50 or so on CL for it.
As I was loading up I noticed she had a lot of other junk under her deck and asked if there was anything I could help her with to the road. She told me everything under there was trash. I found 3 cast iron deck supports from where she had a new deck built. They are hollow but all three of them together probably weigh about 150 pounds. These were from her old deck and just laying there so I threw them in the truck. She also has a set of Steel Jeep rims that are trash. I'm going to clean them up and see what I can get on CL for them also.
It turned out to be pretty profitable day just helping out an old lady
