I had a bad day

I became PISSED today
A yard by me called Greenblott stole from me and it was the owner no less
I took a small order in

Copper 20 pounds in a 6,8 oz bucket

62 lb copper bearing in a 5 lb bucket

20 lbs Aluminum



52 lb short that was nuts bolts, a 90 year old sowing machine and 1/8 thick steel Since it was a small amt I took it to the hand weigh area. The owner says it’s not short I say well 52 lb in a 5gal bucket half full is not mix (I have taken apart sewing machines there short )

And 192 mix

Now the real problem - Now I get paid
13 lbs copper that with math equals a 7 lb bucket I get taken for a pound @ $2.70
50 CBM that with math equals a 12 lb bucket I get taken for 7 lbs for $1.40
20 AL did not get paid for at all - get taken for 20 lbs for $10.00
52 short did not get paid for at all - get taken for 52 lbs for $6.24
Grand total stole from me $24
Then I express how come my AL not on the bill, and the owner goes off and says LOOK your stuff is all curb pickings your AL was no good I put in the garbage (I’m thinking how come not in your mix pile ) I don't say it cause I am trying to resolve and I am completely surprised by this . I am surprised by the BULL
Then he says don't come back here and don't wave the receipt in my face
I also heard the casher call me a retard now I might have some learning disability I even might be a darn retard but I believe it's illegal to call some body a retard especially a customer

and a nice article in the public forum of your local newspaper would be lovely.

Sucks that they mistreated you. As for being illegal to call you names. I highly doubt it. Rude, yes. Illegal, I don't know about that.

How certain are you that YOUR scale is accurate? I see a lot of people complaining that their weights don't match the yards, but unless your scale is calibrated by the dept of weights or whoever it is that does that thing, then I might suspect your scale is a tad off.

And yes, I know/hear/am aware that some yards like to play games with their scales.

In the long run I'll let the weights go by but to not pay me at all for my aluminum and then says he tossed it in the trash , I want my gas money $10 AL = gas / but never will i sell there .

I always use Greenblotts and I've never had a problem with them. The guys in the yard are a lot friendlier than Weitsmans, they pay better, and I would never think the owner would say stuff like that.

Was the aluminum dirty? When I started out, I made the mistake of not taking the bolts out of some aluminum doors and got dirty price for them. I've talked to the owner on numerous occasions and I find it hard to believe he would say anything like what you're describing.

With the short steel, maybe it was a new guy who didn't know what he was doing when grading your stuff, or maybe it has to be bigger than a few nuts and bolts. And as for the weights, maybe your scale is off.

Once again, I find it EXTREMELY hard to believe they said that stuff. Maybe there's more to the story

This really happened today / Todd was the man who said it all to me & he was at the scale I have been scraping for 3 years and yes I have always had a pleasant time selling there even though i sell most to Weissman but once in a wile i give him a shot. truth is he pays less in some ways but some times more , LOOK he took my 20 pounds of AL and it was not on the receipt he then said he tossed it to trash - thats BULL - he stole my $10 dollars - & he made $20 clean - come on man if he took the tiny amt of ten he must really pull fast ones as thats a true sign of stealing , big or small it's all the same to some people and often they are the very rich that are very much out of touch.
I am NOT making it up, why would i have the need . they have cameras the picture will tell it all - the AL was on the scale and not on the receipt I sat on my knees chopping the AL off boards , That kinda money hits the hart. All AL hits the shredder any way so a screw once here or there is nothing to be ashamed over mine was 99% clean.

This is were the forums gets some true action. Other members that use your yard should make a stink about this happening. and let the workers/boss over hear your exchanges about haveing to watch everytthing and how much a hassle it is. The forums are a powerful tool and if the owners isnt a half assed moron he'll get his **** togther fast.
