Picked up an old 21" IBM monitor, and wow there's a ton of stuff in that thing!!

The date on the monitor was 12/93 here's what I got out of it



5.7lbs number #1 ( 2 huge degaussing loops and 4 small ones on each corner and yoke)
6.2lbs aluminum
2lbs insulated
4 oz brass
5lbs steel

Thanks all! Yea I wish they were all like that too. I've been finding monitors everyday for the last week, half with cords on half off. I'm up to 9 for the week. found 2 more today.

Early 90's monitors like that weight 75+ lbs each, how much did the tube itself weigh?

I'm not sure on that one, I know it was freakin heavy! I almost dropped a nut when I first grabbed it.

My 20" Supermac STD-9790 (GDM-1950 Sony rebadged CRT) is over 75Lbs and it will stay in my basement forever (was a pain to get down there and I won't move it again). Probably the same deal for my early 1990's Savin full size copier (very heavy). Hopefully when I am done with it a local scrapper will want them and come get them. Both of those items needed 2 people to move.

Come to think of it my parents are using an old Sylvania Superset color TV (solid wood cabinet, used tubes in the controller) as a table for their 32" LCD TV. I wonder if the electronics inside are worth much for scrap (I was thinking of gutting it and making the screen area into a cabinet).
