    My mistery mallet

As I was looking amongst scrap in a dumpster i spotted a Mallet head, It felt like 2.5 Lb after seeing the name Vaughanon on it. I decided to get a hickory handle. I fixed it and tossed it in my tool bag & never gave it much thought.
Yesterday i had to break up some Vacs & just grabbed it out of the bag and used it. I whacked the vac ONCE and like i said wow what is this I have here. The balance dense weight at only 2.5 lb some how this mallet is a devastator .I am not sure why but it does more then my 6 & 4 lb mallet . It's magic

No its probaly a shot hammer or something. They literally put some weight inside the head. Uf you shake it and it sounds like little beads in there...then it is. I can remewber the name of it, been years since I worked on cars for a living.

Edit....hbmm..crap just had it on the tip of my tongue..nm. lol

THOR would like it .Got me shaken this mallet I think my wrist makes noise. It is a lesson that the larger the hammer does not always mean that's the best choice . For demo of vacs I have used 28 oz hammers , Brick hammers ,6 pounder a baseball bat , Blacksmith hammer 4lb . Lumper hammer 3 lb .
I hope I don't loose my - THOR - I am gonna keep my eye on this one

Its probably a deadblow hammer they dont bounce so all of the force is exerted on the object your hitting

    A have one of those.
I was in the workshop fitting a 25Kg lump of metal on top another to weld them together in a upside down 'T' shape.
So its all tackled up, I run a weld down each side & start using my steel headed hammer to tap it into a precision vertical position.
It takes heaps of bashes & its **** loud.

I stop for a second & someone yells out "Can't you use a quieter hammer!"

So I put the hammer down & pickup the deadblow hammer & start hammering.

Then I stop & look up at them, they are both clutching their stomachs & rolling around on the floor larfin.

Dead blows and brass hammers are my favorites. I've used a three foot dead blow sledge to remove wheel chocks stuck under loaded airplanes. Guys would chock them empty, then the cargo guys would put 30,000 lbs in it, then they'd put 1200 gallons of gas in. All this made the tires squat and lodge the chocks in. If the pilot wasn't a sissy, he'd drive over them, but some were sissies, and that's when "adjustments" were made.

And that's my best hammer story.
