Dead blows and brass hammers are my favorites. I've used a three foot dead blow sledge to remove wheel chocks stuck under loaded airplanes. Guys would chock them empty, then the cargo guys would put 30,000 lbs in it, then they'd put 1200 gallons of gas in. All this made the tires squat and lodge the chocks in. If the pilot wasn't a sissy, he'd drive over them, but some were sissies, and that's when "adjustments" were made.

And that's my best hammer story.
