I love when i find stuff i NEED on top of scrap...

Scrapping the trash in neighborhoods around me last night... found a bunch of steel but not a ton more. Come up on my last neighborhood, looks like the guy just emptied the garage and left it all on the curb. Took alot of it for scrap, ceiling fans and shelving and whatnot, but got alot of cool stuff i needed too!!

a 100' heavy duty orange extension cord
50' yellow extension cord- the heavy kind where the wires aren't all encased together



25' chain with hooks on both ends... i was looking to get one to keep in my 4 wheeler for pulling it out but now I wont need to!

From what I've found online... this is somewhere from 60-92 years old. Works great! The wiring is a bit shoddy so I wil take it apart and rewire it on the inside, but I've needed a half inch drill for a while and now have one! I cant find much online, it is a Signal Electric brand. this is the only page i could find on it...

Either way, if it's worth something, AWESOME, but I'm going to use it till i find a better drill cause i've needed one and this is the old school Made in USA stuff that will last forever if you take care of it!

Yeah my grandpa and an older friend on facebook have already warned me that it will rip my arms off if I'm not paying attention when it grabs lol

First one I ever saw with a handle like that, thought it was a hammer drill.

Great find. The torque is incredible. When I was working with an electrician I was using one in a very small space. The drill grabbed and hit me in the face and broke my glasses. Sucked at the time but now that I look back its sorta funny. Nice find on the chain too. I've been looking for a decent one as well.

Only 14 feet but it's been more than enough for anything I do. Rated at 5,400 lbs but I have yet to snap it. Have bent the hook though yanking on a stump.

I've seen them as low as $14.99, though it's been awhile.

That's the kind of find that brings a big smile to yer face.

nice finds. just make sure you rewire it with a ground. my father in law got electricuted by one just like that in 1979.
if I'm not mistaken there is a hole on top for a piece of pipe.

yup, there is a place to screw in a handle in the top. It already has a 3 prong cord on it, but I dont know how it is wired so I will be replacing it, regardless.

2 pics below of the other stuff i needed... 2 big extension cords. the fans all work but I dont need them so they will be taken for motors. Chain is a bit shorter than I thought, closer to 20', but still bery useful regardless. fits in the little box on the back of the 4 wheeler perfect, needed that for next mudfest and dragging trees around

Some animal traps too... gonna be my buddys birthday present next month once i clean them up LOL he is always looking at them at bass pro
