old printer, ugh, gotta hate em and, love em.

my last thief hit cost me big time, took most of my seed money in product. So I was forced to break down that pile of old printers. several were old desk top, commercial models. I absolutly hate printers. They are a big pain to break down, and I can only handle 5 or 6 a day before i'm toast. that said, several had some very nice boards in them, some more then most computers, also got some memory and some finger cards, sooo dont over look old commercial printers, when times are tough, ya gotta bite the bullit and get tougher.

got about a ton of lite metal, some nice cast alu, a few nice transformers., and a few boards, with of course some lite cu wire. so all in all I should be able to get my seed money back monday and be back in business.

Havent heard back on the final ok on the big deal yet. I have learned over the years to not hold my breath. I have learned that Myrphy, jody, Karma and every other A hole is waiting in the shadows, but if they don't kill ya they will definately make ya tougher.

AND, you can average around 3 to 4 small motors in each printer. That's what I'm doing now also, hitting my printer pile. Then the keyboard pile will be next, ughhhhh! It'll be a toss-up between tv's and keyboards.

The thing I am suffering from right now is not enough gaylords..... I have plastic out my ears and the company I talked to was a bust...... oh well, they'll regret it.

Thanks for the report. I've got a bunch of printers just waiting for me to get around to them. I haven't torn one apart and been wondering what I'd find. (Actually, the pile has been just sitting there and growing for several years). Tub full of keyboards, too, but at least I'd torn one of them apart to see what was there.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

The printers do go faster with a cordless screwdriver, but there still is 20-30 screws in each one.

Drop them on the ground. Then kick them across the yard. Then smack them with a hammer. Usually works for me lol

one thing I have learned is to store the pile of printers in the sun. it mskes the plastic brittle and a lot easier to deal with.

Those printer/copy/fax/stapler machines are a bear. I tore apart 3 of them recently. 2 of them were only around 200 pounds, easy to tear apart. Still a few hundred screws in each. Then their was the 400 pound guy. That one took the better part of 4 hours. Lots of neat gears and sliders in there. I gave Idahoscrapper the 500 pounder. I just didnt want to tear into it. Figured i could throw it in my tin bin, but, hell, pay it forward. He gives me plastic, and i throw him some random crap every now and then.

That copier was a treat. Actually, it wasn't too bad. Broke it down on the truck getting a few boards and wires, then scooped it up with the skidsteer into the trailer.
