I saw a sign recently wile entering a parking lot that has dumpsters . The sign warned of the don't s wile in the parking lot nothing seems to apply to me except the word statement "Canvasing " as stated no canvasing - since i am not shopping am I canvasing for scrap ? or are they just warning no political agendas As per wickapidia Canvassing is the systematic initiation of direct contact with a target group of individuals commonly used during political campaign

Canvassing involves contact between two people. As long as you don't come across someone else in the dumpster you should be ok. If you do come across someone, you should still be ok if you don't talk to them.

I would guess that canvasing might refer to the putting of menus on people cars and on their doors. Mike

Personally I think they don't want you to wait while for people to throw stuff away since the dumpster is on private property (apt, business, etc). I personally have had the cops called on me while waiting for a client to give me stuff. Someone though I was casing the place to rob cars.

I have heard the phrase Canvasing a job in relation to a bank heist - NOT any one I hang with just from the movies OK
I really do feel driving into a parking lot with the intention to go to a dumpster - is some sort of canvasing ,Now since there is a supper market there i guess i could - each time cash in some 5 cent cans, then at least i am not Canvasing a job BUT I still am doing something.
