Its a slow friday at work, and my co-worker complained her heating pad wasnt working after being plugged in for over an hour.
She offered it to me for scrap, and after asking her several times if she was sure, i cut it open right in front of her, just to see what the wires were made of

this is a close up of the wires. the red one is thhn, and the beige looking one is the heating coil wire. I stripped the end of the heating coil wire to see what it looked like, and what kind of filament it had inside
hard to see, but this is the end of the wire. under the outer insulation, its just a fiber cable with a super thin filament spiraled around it. i ended up throwing it in the garbage with the matting and the nylon casing. at least i have another power cable to add to the mix
