I've always included them with my bare CRT tubes at the recycling center.

if you can test them, they can sell for 15-40 dollars ea.

Assuming they're either attached to dead laptops or are disassembled from the laptop (but the inverter and cords are still in place) - is there an easy way to test them? Is it a universal connector coming off the inverter that I can just hook up to a different laptop?
