How would you scrap this old TV with gearbox in it?

As I was taking apart a old T.V. today, I found a strange gearbox thing in it. It came from the kind of T.V. that has two knobs on the right side for tuning, etc. Anyway, it has a steel frame, with some electrical components welded to the side, and plastic spindles with copper wires wrapped around it. I don't know if I should toss it in my steel pile, or strip it down to the frame. Y'all tell me. I can't post photos, or links, so if someone could post a link for me that would be great. Thanks!

I broke a couple down logging the amount of time i spent, the amount of times i dropped the F bomb, (as well as my screw driver) and decided it wasn't worth it. They all go in the shred now.
