Maximizing $ off fridge, freezer, water cooler

hi-been doing scrap for a few months now on and off. i had a good load today, 2 fridges, 1 chest freezer, 2 stand up water cooler towers and a central ac unit.

I watched the video on compressor break down so i will be doing that with the fridges. can i see the "radiator" on the back as something better than shred? plans on removing all wiring as well for my "to strip" copper collection.

whats the good stuff in a home ac unit? dishwasher?

    apologies for the noob questions.

What's your big plan for recovering refrigerant? Or were you going to snip the lines and go on?

As for the fridge "radiator" all the ones I've seen are steel. Get a magnet if you haven't. They'll be your best friend.

Just a little tip by the way...all your questions have been answered in this vast resource known as SMF.

Well-im against the idea of just snipping the lines, but I also dont have any equipment to catch the freon...any ideas?

I conveniently misplaced my extendable magnet which i justbought 2weeks ago! grr...

In the past I only dumped fridges whole as "shred" quickly realized half my "shred"was actuallymuch better stuff..

Other than the wires and compressor in a fridge. there should a fan motor (pull it out). Open the freezer and pull out the sheet of alluminum and you'll see a thing that looks like a radeator (pull that out,it's sheet al.) From there you should be able to pull the copper line out from the back. Also check the shelves on the inside the door sometimes they have sheet alluminum. OH the sheet alluminum in the freezer is all the way in the back, should be able to see a few screws that hold it in. As far as the freezer goes you will have to look at it but should have the same things in it. The freezer might have a al-copper radiator in it. Hope this helps a little.
