New here, can anyone point out whats the terms mean?

Such as shred, whats the classes of copper, alluminum, brass, etc are? I want to be able to tear down my scrap better for higher payout. Right now I only know lead and zinc terms.

I don't know if this'll help but if you click on the item it should show you a sample picture of it.

See if this helps. It's a "sticky" on one of the forums: http://www.scrapmetalforum.com/scrap...-isri-etc.html
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

This forum is like going to school, you have to take it one step at a time. You have to walk before you can run.

Go to the ISRI site. They have a scrap guide on there that free to download. I wish everyone would look at that. I go to yards sometimes to buy, and the owners don't even know the specs. It's insane!
