I've just been wandering and I've been thinking "Is there any money in capaciters?".I know some people who repair electronics(e.x SNES,Stero's)usally pull capaciters off old boards to fix busted ones. But yeah just wandering about it.
PEACE!

Only flux capacitors are worth anything. They are pretty rare though.
Most large ewaste buyers will buy them its just one of those items you need to ask about first.
Born to think, destine to succeed.
The important issue here is the 1.21 Jigawatts they are capable of storing. Make sure you discharge them before doing any work or removing them.

usually if they are hooked up to a wound motor the will have been discharged already.
How about large capacitors? I have quite a few DC and AC Caps.( 1,000 and less micro farad) They are made of aluminum, but have electrolyte inside.(oil/paper/aluminum). I did take on e to my yard, they told me .20 cents a lb. Sound right?
I'm lost ... what are capacitors? Have to look it up because I know that the answer I'll get will be about flux capacitors lol

was kinda funny that one of the biggest components doesnt even rate its own photograph. Hard to know what #8 is for a noob that doesnt understand electronics
I'll see about taking a big ole photo and shooting it in this post at some time. Would love to know what people are getting in there area for capacitors and what category(s). My guy just has a glazed over look when i give him anything more than a few aluminum cans, but at minimum wage i guess thats what to expect. Time to bring out the white board and erasers for him as his boss is never around.
I assume everyone is talking about the bigger ones.
Ron, what do you typically get per pound in your area? Do you just lump them all together, or seperate into different categories? (I dont know what categories there would be, except stand-alone and mounted...)
