Gas ovens electric ovens have different amounts of copper but overall small amounts = wiring -aluminum piping on gas ovens - some brass - short steel parts - copper bearing items (any thing with wiring) including the burners on electric ) are the items you will find , the rest is mix

Just unbolt the back and rip out the wires, pull the heating elements off the burner and put it with your appliances destined for the steel pile. There may be some brass in the burners and control panel. Hope this helps!

Some of the knobs have silver contacts and some old oven timers too. Like the older dryer timers. I have one in the shop I will dig out today for pic.

If your ganna open up the back to rip out the wires, some ovens have small fan-like motors in them. Just like the ones out of microwaves

amount of non ferrous, and how hard it is to retrieve varies greatly by model. you may want to try finding a used appliance place or repair shop. some of them will buy it for parts or to rebuild

NO, its not worth it. An experienced scrapper will and must alway assess work effort and financial gains. If the financial does not outway the effort, then dismantling is a resounding, no.

I am gonna tear down everything I get. To me it is fun. Also everything adds up. just pile it all together. I want the most return from everything. Yea I may be putting more work in but if its all saved up and piled right. When I get to the yard. should be some good money.

I scrap ovens often. After you have finished its a nice lump of iron...
The faceplate is normally 3 or 4 peices of extruded Ali, same with the oven handles, oven trays & the odd pot or dish is also Ali....
Check the sliders on the bottom draw, sometimes they are Ali, sometimes theres a sheet Ali holding the glass insulation in there too.
Behind the faceplate, check the switches, old ones are good for silver/copper electrical contacts. The timer has a spool of copper wire in it.
If a single or several hotplate switch contacts look like this (Med blue color, unlike the others)
Its a replacement switch, (the old one broke, the owner got it replaced with a brand new switch) save that, they are worth $5 to sell. (UK 16pounds, NZ$45, US$35-40 brand new)
If its designed for a 'two element' hotplate (check what it says on the faceplate) its worth a lot more. Brand new US$80, NZ$95.
Same with the actual plastic knobs, they get hot & melt & someones going to pay you a $ or more for it.
The wiring, unfortunately a lot of the ovens use stainless steel wiring, I thought it was tinned copper.... wrong. Otherwise its copper with the clips on it. I sell it as 'Plastic coated copper wire' @ NZ$3 Kg.
The thermometer has a long copper tube going from it to the oven area, its got a bigger dia copper tube welded to its end. Pull that, its copper.
The lightbulb, 1/2 the time it still works, & it just saved you $1. Normally its 40 watts.
In 'convection' ovens theres a fan bolted to the back of the oven that shifts the hot air in the oven around for better cooking. Its got 50gms+ copper in it. Its easyer to cut thru the copper spool as the bolts are always rusted up.
The fans a peice of sheet Ali, not worth bothering with. 66% of the time its got a dead mouse stuck to it......
Theres some other Ali, like the vent tube on some ovens.
The elements are worth $ too.
Same with the block they fit into, if its a quick replacement sort, they arc out easyly so see if you can sell the whole unit. Element flashings, the bit between the element & the oven top face rust out & sell for a few $.
