Coax braided wire insulation & gum wrapper stuff

Hi all, n00b question, cause I'm a n00b. The braided wire around Coax cables, what's that made of? I've heard aluminum, I've heard copper. Also, that gum wrapper type stuff, that's aluminum correct?

People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.
