TV Yoke - Simple Method For Removing Copper From Ferrite - Page 2

    The one problem with that method, other than safety, is a lot of yokes I find, have that dang epoxy crap on them. That is why, I used a sledge and smash them myself. Luckily for me, my yards dont really care if they epoxy is on there, which is never a lot, but still.

    once itsw smashed I just pull the copper from both ends and all the ferrite comes out and I use a magnet to pick it up. safer to me than using a grinder.

    Maybe I'm the odd one out here, but to me the cutoff isn't as dangerous as a saw blade. I've nicked myself a few times with the cutoff, and I've cut myself once with a circular blade. No comparison.

    I cut them the same way as the OP and haven't had any issues. Less mess, but to each their own. And that's okay too.

    they dont care around here either, i just take a 4 pound hammer and crush the yoke then get as much of the glue off as possible then throw them into a 5gal bucket, i sort them later on for no 1 and no 2
