TV Yoke - Simple Method For Removing Copper From Ferrite

Here is how I speed through my TV yokes. Typically I will break down yokes as I get them, and sort them into smaller piles.

Here is a tub of Ferrites with attached copper windings.

I hold the ferrite in my hand with the arch going away from my palm

I use 4 1/2'' Angle Grinder with a thin metal cutoff disc and cut across the arch making sure to cut though all of the strands.

And it peels off the ferrite very easily.

And this takes approx. 15 seconds per copper wound ferrite.
This is by far much easier than picking out the ferrite chunks after smashing them to bits.
