Just unscrew the motor and toss the rest in shred. It takes like 2 minutes and you make more money that way.

Typically they have gold on the boards as they are made for outside use. Same widda remote control.

My dogs like to chew remotes..silly dogs that they are. I now no longer bring remotes into the house..lol. An I have to keep our tv/cable/everything remote up high so they can't get it if we're not around. Sadly I've replaced more remotes due to the dogs thinking they are chew toys then I care to admit.

I'm kinda surprised by the responses here. I've done a couple, and I think the motors are pretty decent in them, a pretty good bit of copper if you take the time to cut-snip-punch-pull it out. Not much else inside the box, though, as far as boards & such.
Plus, if it came with the rails they're most likely 6063 aluminum. Do your yard guy a favor though & at least wipe the channel with a peper towel: that graphite grease is NASTAY!

boy you aren't kidding! If I find one with the rail I'm always groaning as I reach for my gloves lol. And, I've never had one with aluminum rails, always steel.
