    Baby Stroller and Garden Umbrella

Got a baby stroller and garden umbrella today, baby stroller seems to be mostly ferrous metal. Wondering if i should remove the wheels and fabric before i take it to the yard or just stick the whole thing in my ferrous bin? Also the umbrella seems to be aluminum a part of it was scratched away and its not magnetic. I assume i should remove the fabric part as well before i bring it in? Any other tips for these items would be great.

If the umbrella is Alum then yes, strip it of the cover, and any other non alum you can. Alum with steel, fabric etc would be considered dirty at my yard and you'd get less money.

I get lots of beach umbrella's and chairs during the summer months an this is what I do.

    Good luck!

Both as is. Stroller would be sheet iron by me as is. The umbrella would be dirty alum. If you break it down as stated above you would make more...

Did you look around to make sure there wasn't a baby under there somewhere ?
If your shred pile is big enough I'd just throw the stroller in there whole, I've thrown old baby car seats in that were mostly plastic seat with a metal frame. Not sure about the umbrella, I've never scrapped one, but had one float around my yard every time the breeze started blowing. Maybe it was mostly Alum., but I can't really imagine no steel support in there somewhere

Check all of the pockets for goodies, I got about $15 out of one a while back.

I may be able to sell this stroller on CL for more than scrap value so I'm gonna try that first.

cool deal juno. You might also consider giving it away on FreeCycle, you might be 50 cents shy at the scales, but it might help someone a lot, and then they might also want you to haul off that load of scrap out by the shed ; ) I've actually gotten to where I look for things worth giving away, to list alongside my recyclables ad. Seems the least one can do is to give something back, even if it seems to be something minor, it can mean a lot to the recipient, as well as to the others who also receive those ads, to know you're not only taking, but also giving something back

If you dont cut the ''spokes'' off the umbrella it will go as irony for less money. there are just a couple screws to removed to be able so slide the pole out.
