    Boards

So this would be a question for all the e-waste people. Do you guys save the boards from everything or just computers? I have some boards from tvs, computer monitors, computers, and just about everything else you can think of. Are any of them worth anything besides the computer ones?

They are all worth sumthing, its depends on how much someone willing to pay for it, You can always put a price on it,, but the bottom line,, its what the buyer thinks it worth.. If You've some example.. picture be happy to tell you round about prices.. now these prices are different across the us... so take that into consideration when you get prices from all the people on this forum,

different regiion get and or make prices up or down.

    Look forward to helping You..

We do recycle the boards from everything in our shop. What changes is how much time we give any particular board. If a board is a low grade then we will not spend as much time with that board. There are a lot of threads on here explaining , or at least giving you an idea how to grade boards. There is certainly a learning curve.

TV and monitor boards are generally low grade. I say generally, because there are the rare exceptions when you find a higher grade board in one.

Really Cole, you need to do a lot of homework. There are so many threads about this stuff that it is crazy.

My advice to you would be to find another e-waste guy close to you and see if he will show you hands on.

Common sense plays a huge part in grading boards after you learn the basics from different threads on this forum.

Low grade boards can be a big disappointment when you take them in. Last week I took in 4,758 lbs of them. They paid me .19 per pound. The total was $904.02 I think that was 9 gaylord/tote boxes. Each had a lite weight of around 70 pounds with the pallet. My gross weight on the load was 5443 pounds. You end up moving a lot of weight for very little money. I do make it up in other areas, I am just trying to help you keep things in their proper perspective.
There may a million better places to live than Iowa, but none of them are home!

Here's some grading so you might have a better idea of what's, what.

Also, low grade runs from .10 to .30 a lb. Low grade is usually what we call brown boards.

At least on many low grade boards you can knock off copper.bearing stuff pretty quickly and most have some aluminum heatsinks that a corless drill can take off quickly....I dont spend much time on them, but that stuff comes off since I can do it in a minute if nothing else is going on...but I am with the rest...pull them if you are in there...get a good cordless drill and those screws come out quickly...separate into bins and keep going.

Computers, dvrs, cable boxes, sattelite boxes and many lcd (tv and monitor) all have high and medium grade boards in addition to low grade, so do them before say radios ect.

I just put my low grade in a large container and grab them when I get too much stacked up. The high end stuff get sent out as soon as possible to dollar cost average since that market is so volatile.

    Good luck!

I'm going to chime in again,,, I think just about anybody buys low grade.. the bottom line you've to look at is how much is it gonna cost for You to ship it to the nearest scrapper guy. The closest the more you can save... so be sure to take into account the cost of shipping versus what you're sending. you don't want to send 2000lbs and the payout is only lets say 200.00 then you minus your shipping cost.. well you gonna be in the hole and when you call your scrapper and asked where My money.. you gonna hear this.. well ummm, you sent this and the shipping was that and you now owe us... for the shipping.. so becareful. Like I said in my first post.. I be happy to share or asked any question that you may have.

    Thanks.
