i always break down my dryers because there is always change $ inside of them! one time i got over 7 dollars in change out of 1 dryer. now that being said on to the second part of the title. up here in chicago i used to get electric motors price for the motors but quit doing it for awhile. well i tried bringing some in to the local yard after a long hiatus and they said alum breakage well after going to a few other ones they said the same thing its aluminum coated wire with a red coating of sorts but if you cut it open its aluminum on the inside so i guess the scrap yards were getting duped themselves by buying these as electric motors(they didnt pay as much as starters or alternators but on average i would get .17 a pound for them. but not anymore lol. I still take my dryers and washers apart in the search for loose change though. every penny counts boys!
