Not all motors from washer/dryers are AL but it does seems to be the new norm.
You will get the price if you put them in your electric motor bin. My yard would frown on this.
I put mine in dirty AL, that's what they look like to me.

    Motor in appliances?

my yard has electric motors in general regardless if they are aluminum made. I strip motors down and unwind the copper. unsure if the washer and dryer aluminum concept if its true.

Most motors from washers and driers have aluminum windings. Most yards know this and will not buy them as electric motors but will buy them as irony aluminum. Will depend on your yard so always ask first.

Yeah they started inspecting mine the other day , granted these motors were from hvac units . About 20 lbs a piece . They inquired so I flipped one over to where I broke threw and scratched the windings . Next time I go that far I might have to break out the sawzaw . Kinda a punch in the gut for .20a lb . But I had over 100 lbs and if I didn't take them then they would have been in my way . My guess is 9 times out of 10 your gonna find aluminum windings in washers and dryers . They add up fast to so that's also a plus
