    Box Fan Dismantle

Heres a guide to breaking down a standard Box Fan.

Step 1: Cut the cord off and then Remove the back guard, this is how it will look after the back plastic or metal guard is removed...

Step 2: Separate the motor from the hanger, its usually held on with a few nuts...

Step 3: Breaking away the casing of the motor, this is usualy held together with a few nuts also (helps to break the fan off the prop also)

Step 4: Pull out the copper (I just pushed the copper out and unravelled it, be much easier with a grinder but I did not have one available.)

Now throw the frame into your scrap pile (they are normally magnetic) and keep your copper separate.
