    Steelcase Stacking Chairs

The forum won't let me use pictures, I don't know why. But, I have some plastic and aluminum stacking chairs made by Steelcase. Several are broken and I want to remove the plastic in one piece if possible. Seems like it should just slide out of the channel on aluminum frame. I can't get it to budge.

Anyone ever break these down before? (sure wish I could post pics)

Maybe these will help, but no guarantees.

    Yay!!! It worked. Thanks Brandon.
So, I want to remove the seats in one piece from the broken chairs. Just to have a few spare parts. But, I can't get the aluminum to release the plastic.
    Any suggestions?

unless they are broken sell whole on craigslist or local fb group. for the ones that are broken you should be able to tap out with a hammer, if you want to save a top or bottom that is still good try using a rubber mallet.

The ones that are not broken are being sold that way.
After spending a good while beating on one of these I have come to the conclusion that spare seats are worthless. You'd never be able to repair one of these suckers!
I think I will just split the rail with a grinder or dremel to remove that plastic. Stubborn little buggers.

can you spread the channel at all?
a wedge on the left side between the plastic and aluminum may work.
