What's Inside a Keyboard & Mouse

Some people were curious about what's inside a keyboard or a mouse and is it worth it to break it down. The keyboard has a plastic sheet inside (called mylar) with a small brown board attached to the cord. The cord end is not gold plated. Some people save up the silver plastic sheets and sell them to a reclaimer to reclaim the silver out of them.
The mice have a small low grade board attached to the cord, and that's all that's inside. The rest is plastic and rubber. Correction, the ball is metal under the rubber cover.

actually the ball is steel, its is just rubber coated. but yeah not really much to either one.

Yep, that's why I did it, and I was bored. That way the new-bee's don't have to keep asking,,,

i seem to find a good amt of keyboards that i just toss in with mix tin so i get .10 or .09 depending - so might be same a actual take apart and reclaim

I just put them in the scrap pile adds a little extra weight

wireless mouse has a high grade board plated with gold ive got about 12 of them saved up so far

mylar sheets with silver tracing were going for as much as 2.00 per pound (before shipping cost) since i have last sold them silver has dropped some.

Keyboards that have a card reader slot have a small high grade board in them instead of a brown board. Also the newer keyboards come with a usb plug which is a gold connector.

Theres a optical sensor in there with at least 8 gold wires inside it

Has anyone tried to design a co2 gun that could fire mouse balls ? Just sayin I would buy one , also I expect 25% royalty's from the engineer that reads and designs it .

The reason for the 39 screws..
Is to hold the metal plate on..
The reason for the plate is so you can line the bottom of the computer case..
The reason for lining the bottom of the computer case is so the 39 screws won't fall out....

The optical eye looks pretty, possable jewlery?
The switches have the 'Gold bar' contacts. Probably a gold plated silver bar.
The opto switches that are around the kind of spoked wheel also have a fine gold wire in them.

Maybe try freezing paintball pellets, might work?
