    Nah, its different from that.

    In the above pics, in the bottom left pic you can see a rounded half moon shape.
    Thats where the disc is, inside the unit theres two thin flat metal plates that contact on each side of the silvery disc.

    I did find a pic of the actual disc. The ones I have seen don't have the thin mica disc connected to it


    I just figured it was a diode of some sort & didn't bother saving them.

    the left pic. looks like it has a burnt spot from touching another contact tip. kinda like points in a distributor.

    The best way to describe it is that its very similar to the centre part of a peizo speaker disc.
    Ceramic, clear/white.
    Its held in between two flat copper fingers, so it dosn't seem to get hot or such.

    Does the coffee filter contain the gold mentioned earlier? If so do you refine further?

    These pictures tell thousands of words.
    I've got several items ready for breakdown that are near identical to the above pictures and i now know what to look for besides the obvious brass and copper.
    Also i've got an old huge control box for two pumps that i know now will have quite a lot of silver stashed in it.
    Photo coming when camera is charged.
