    Electric pressure washer

Just broke down an average sized household electric pressure washer

    Start weight: 25lbs

For me if tossed in the shred pile = $2.38

    Quick break down yeilded

    0.2lbs brass = $0.34
    0.5lbs steel = $0.05
    2.5lbs insulated #2 copper = $2.25
    14 lbs elec. motor = $3.50

    Grand total = $6.14

+$3.76 for 5-10 mins of work

I've got a big industrial gas powered one to tear down. I'll have to post the breakdown when I get to it.

Hey tackleberry great breakdown, but just wondering was there no cast Al in there also? I've broken a few and got some.

Yes there is cast aluminum that is a part of pump/electric motor. When doing the tear down I went at it for a bit to see how easy it was going to be to seperate it and get clean aluminum, it was a stubborn SOB so I gave up. The price difference between elec motor and cast Al just isn't large enough for me to justify putting in the time.
