What I've actually gotten? Industrial light fixtures
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.
Compressors from fridges, dehumidifiers and ac units. Those usually have a lb or more once you cut them open.
substations my favorite the larger the transformer the bigger the core.

Most copper for the least effort is large old microwave ovens. Over 2 lbs of copper in the 2 transformer coils. Just don't find them that often.
The newer microwaves all have copper clad aluminum wire.
Dont forgot though...some nukers have both a copper core and alu core....so always check,. :>~
