    What has the most copper wire in household products you find

    Alright guys what are you favorite things you scrap that has a lot of copper wire in it?.thought id throw it out there.

    Household? TV/Computer monitors

    What I've actually gotten? Industrial light fixtures

    Compressors from fridges, dehumidifiers and ac units. Those usually have a lb or more once you cut them open.

    substations my favorite the larger the transformer the bigger the core.

    Most copper for the least effort is large old microwave ovens. Over 2 lbs of copper in the 2 transformer coils. Just don't find them that often.

    The newer microwaves all have copper clad aluminum wire.

    Dont forgot though...some nukers have both a copper core and alu core....so always check,. :>~

    One of my favorites also, beautiful heavy thick copper wire along with some copper sheet and lots of brass nuts and bolts.

    Not copper clad, its the varnish used for insulation that gives you the illusion of copper.

    I just broke one down that had 2 coils and it was loaded with wire
