Congrats on the gaylord of Electric Motors. Not a bad chunk of change for 51 hours of work.

Romex can be a good money maker. Its all about the amount of time it takes you to strip it though. If you're going to strip a lot of it, I highly reccomend buying a manual stripper with a romex setting. I have a cheap Chinese made model that I paid $300 for and its worth every penny. It strips the wire just as fast as you put it in and it mounts to any surface. Best part is, you only feed it through 1 time and you end up with 3 strips of bright wire.

Are you buying the gaylords from the yard and then selling them back? I didn't know they'd sell to the public like that. Pretty neat. Glad you made out!

It sounds like he is an employee of the yard, but, in my experience, if you walk in with cash in hand and know how to haggle and have a truck ready to take it away, a scrap yard will sell you anything. Unfortunatly though not all are like this and sometimes because you are not a business they will charge you tax. They may also try to stick it to you because they think you don't know the prices so research research research lol

I suggest that you should run one winch but two hooks(one on each side of the windings). It looks like it reduce a lot of the friction that comes from only pulling on the one side. That is just my 2 cents. Nice invention by the way.
