Breaking down a Jen-aire Stove

Well, I had some time on my hands today and decided to completely break down a Jen-Aire stove that came into the yard! I easily removed the cast aluminum trays (about3 lbs) and then removed a series of phillips scews w/ the cordless drill. The outer steel shell then came away from the inner stove allowing me to harvest 3 lbs of #2 insulated wire and 1/2 lb of #1 insulated wire. The top and the face came to 12 lbs of magnetic stainless steel. The unit also has a fan with a 11 lb electric motor (had to bash off the fan due to a nasty press fit attaching it to the motor shaft). About 2 lbs of aluminum in the burner assemblies (3 of them). I also took the motor off the clock and found a bit of brass in the gear assemblies. The whole process took about 20 minutes and it was easy to do. The only tricky part was realizing that the fan+motor comes out the side of the oven easily if you unbolt the 7/16th bolt in the center of the shaft that is hidden behind an aluminum shield (round) found on the inside of the oven unit. The motor shaft has a fan on the outside of the oven and a small fan that services the inside of the oven (all on the same shaft)...take off the on the inside of the fan and the rest falls out. If ya get one break it down, well worth it!!
