I use a pair of these for cutting up ribbon wire and other computer cables. Cuts through them like you are cutting paper and can process a whole bunch very fast.

So to confirm. The flat plastic connectors on the ide ribbon cables are "Gold Ends" and are selling for $2 a pound? I know what I'm going this weekend!

I get 90 cents a pound for mine here as long as it is about 15% or less of my #2 that I am turning in.
I tore a few of these connectors apart and have yet to find any that have gold on them. I will have to try a few more again.

Well, I ripped a couple apart in the garage a little bit ago. In just the right light I see the faintest hint of what may be gold just at the top 1/3 or so of the pins.
I see a graduated teir of gold bearing connectors in the future. Low grade, high grade, etc.
Discuss.
Looks like I might need a bunch more buckets pretty soon!

parrothead i know exactly what your saying, after ripping apart 100 lbs of the ribbon cable today i could grade those suckers just like that.

Buckets are free all day long on garbage day. I love the kitty litter buckets with the lids, but open them and look inside them before picking it up. Many will throw the cat poop in the old bucket.

I love them yellow kitty litter buckets too. As far as gold goes. If you pull the back of the ribon cable connector off and pull out the ribbon cable you will see all the gold ends.
My sister works at Costco and gets me all the buckets I want. Might check with the Boise Costco. (these are coming out of the bakery dept, but others may have them as well)
