They obviously have no idea what they are doing then. There is multiple yards all around me, and not one has that requirement. Acid of any kind is a very dangerous business, so I would not recommend it.
I don't know what the yards do with them, but what I can say is this. My yard pays me a flat rate depending on the size. From there, it gets loaded onto a pallet, and as the pallet goes, it gets shrink wrapped. Then sent to their main plant in DC somewhere for processing.
