    Probably a silly question

But I've never let that stop me before...

When breaking down CRT TVs and monitors, is the copper that comes off the yoke considered #2? Reason I ask is that those four pieces don't really unwind. Also, how important is it to remove all the tape and/or melted plastic goop that seems to be on all of them? And if it is important, what's the best way to go about it? Water doesn't work, acetone doesn't work and grinding it off seems a bit extreme.

I did try searching and found a lot of variations of "it's copper" and "don't break the glass" and "where can I get rid of the glass"

Thanks everyone for putting up with my questions.
