Telecom boards with gold-capped CPU's on board Value?

All I can say is tripping over dollars to get at dimes. I would have found something far better to do with my time. But what I dont get is where you got 9.00? I deal solely with Ewasted and highest grade he has atm is 5.00 something a lb. I had a telecom board with 4 486 chips soldered and all I got? And dont say get a new buyer, Mario my man for escrap. Just wondering if this was before the market bubble crashed?

Maybe I need to check my math. I will research a recent deal and provide an example where
I sold some boards after removing some socketed motorola chips and what the final results were.

Ozzy, yes you're right, it didn't really pay a lot more to get those chips off. The $9 price per lb won't hold water now as this was last November so with a $5 or so max, it might be worth removing the gold capped chips. Mario is great and I'm planning another shipment to him soon. However, some of the other buyers on here do specialize a bit more in certain things and each one may have a better price on one or two items. I check around if I get some specialty stuff.
