I have no idea what these boards are from and if i had to guess i would say some sort of relay board. Anyone came across these and what sort of scrap value are they? They are around 65cm x 40cm in size and are the same front and back.

Looks like 1/4 inch thick telecom back plane boards. Worth more than scrap.

I live in the UK so when it comes to boards I have to sell here unfortunately. That's why I use this forum to get an idea on values. I'm not sure whether it is best to send all my boards off to a refinery. I can get around $3.50 a lb for high grade boards or I can pay around $0.65 a lb to have them refined. Any idea which I the best option ?
id go with a refiner if those are your only options, but id like to offer another option
option c, cut the pins off sell them seperatly and take for the board whatever the local buyer wants to give you for it. Looks like around 500 grams of gold pins to me, possibly as much as 1000 grams.
If you have the time.....
Throw it on Ebay UK. I strongly suggest the following pictures be taken with a good close up:
Ruler/scale/calipers against the board edge showing board thickness
Ruler/scale/calipers against the pins showing pin height above the board and connector
Ruler/scale along the outer edges showing length and width
board on a scale showing weight.
both sides of the board showing connector density
in bold text, the number of pins per connector and how many connectors per side, and (do the math) total number of gold plated pins (they are plated).
Although you can set up a fixed price with a set number of boards available, I would do one auction and mention others may be forth coming.
Do NOT forget that between Ebay and PayPal, they will get about 15% of the total. Count that in along with shipping costs and keep it inside the UK to make things easy on yourself.
I am yet to find a buyer in the UK that offers anything close to the prices available in the US. It actually works out better for me to send things like RAM abroad than to sell in my own country. Motherboards are the only things which have a similar price but its very hard to find someone to go above a standard high grade board. For instance the best price i can find for Hard Drive Boards here is $4.12 a lb compared to Ewasted's $11.50.
Thats because they dont have the competition to have the need to pay premium prices. Then again i know there are buyers over there from time to time over the years i have seen them post
