question about grading circuit board

Hello I have just sourced a seller of circuit boards and from what I can tell they are mid grade? what do you think. Also would It be better to remove the alluminum and copper from the boards before selling? I also came across some low grade boards I know they only sell for .15 cents a pound they have allum and copper on them would I still get paid the .15 if I removed them before selling? thanks

I would say the top is just a power supply board and my guess is $.30+....ask your buyer. The bottom pic would probably be degraded if you remove the aluminum. Not much else there for a buyer to profit from.

the top board is a medium grade board if you remove the heavy heat sinks ad transformers.the bottom is a lo grade board .remove the alum and toss it in the junk pile

I think you could probably get a little more for the top picture then what shendog suggested, but I think that asking your buy would be the best option. He will know best. As far as the bottom picture, I think Shendog is right. There isn't much there. Definitely call up your buyer and get his input, it really is the only way to know for sure.

I'd rather not toss the low grade in the trash after I remove the alum even if I got enough to pay the gas to recycle them I'd go that route thanks for the input

I have been using a propane torch to get the trans and alum off the boards will the value go down if they get a little burnt. I use a gas mask also those fumes are not healthy

the best way to pull them off honestly is a pair of channel locks and elbow grease .and Conrad don't throw them away put them in a junk board pile .evan with all the items removed you can still get 10-15 cents a lb for them

I can strip the bottom boards and still get .10#. Those heat sinks should get at least .50#. They are worth more than the board. Also grab those small transformers and put them in with your mtrs.

Use a screw driver and a pair of vice grips, ditch the flame.

is that .50 a pound with all the heatsinks attached or removed?

The last one of them I had, my buyer grabbed a small hammer and knocked off the big can caps and told me "now it's upgraded".

So wait Transformers aren't their own separate category I could of sworn they worn lol. So throw transformers in with motors?

well they are .but because they basically contain the same types of material. and the prices are the same .most buyers just mix them together

It depends on how your buyer will take them. I mix mtrs,transformers,computer fans etc together since oneyard i deal with pays the same for all of it.

If they buy the boards with them on why are they not buying with them off? If they dont buy boards at all I know some places will tell you to put them with your shred. Sucks since it should be properly recycled but sometimes you have no choice.

2.00 a pound for mid grade? Can I ask who your buyer is

its a local buyer up here buy me in pa .he has the best price I have ever found for medium grade. he also gets my alum,copper and a couple other stuff
